Innovative Action Concept
The WELT:KLASSE education concept enables young people from Germany
four-week learning experiences in emerging and developing countries
while including their entire school classes in innovative ways.
The students live with guest families and work with local youth in
Intercultural teams. Via video conferences and an internet blog,
they keep in touch with their classmates from back home.
Comprehensive, interdisciplinary preparations and follow-up activities
are integrated in the teaching schedule.
In this way, the experience
abroad is reflected on and the multiplier effect on the classmates is
increased further. Out of every WELT:KLASSE school, a minimum of
one team consisting of four students per year is going to either China,
India or Kenya.
This creates continuous impulses for the
school community and sees them deal with topics like globalization,
collaborative development work and interculturality in an intensive way.
Through local networks of scholarship providers, the students receive
help with the financing of the trip and can become active as
multiplicators even outside of their school community.
